EU countries have agreed to increase the share of renewable energy in their energy consumption to 20% by 2020 and at the same time reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20% from the 1990 level by 2020. In addition, energy efficiency is planned to be improved by 20%. If an ambitious international climate agreement is reached for the period after 2012, EU is willing to go further and reduce emissions by 30%.
Energy (viz., thermal and electricity) consumption plays an important role for our prosperity. However, as the population of the planet constantly grows, so does the demand for energy. This growing demand for energy consumption is a driver of our business. Since fossil fuel resources are limited in terms of ecological sustainability it makes sense to exploit the new market for Renewable Energy Sources (RES). Even after a plant has been commissioned and put into operation, we often form long-term partnerships with our customers within the framework of after-sales and maintenance contracts.
